Dual Line or Single Line DS1 Tester with DDS 4-Wire Local Loop Capability

DUAL LINE T1 TESTING and DDS 4-WIRE LOCAL LOOP TESTING CAPABILITY with OPTIONAL LINE PARAMETRIC TESTING in a SINGLE PACKAGE!

Electrodata's TTS 3, EZ-TESTER® DS combines the comprehensive dual or single line T1 testing features of the EZ-TESTER® QJ with out-of-service testing capability for 4-wire DDS communications equipment and circuits. Built to the same tried and true standards of the original EZ-TESTER, the EZ-TESTER DS provides complete support for DS0, T1, and DDS 4-wire local loop testing. The unit is available in two basic configurations: DDS 4-wire local loop testing with a single DS1 test port; and DDS 4-wire local loop with dual DS1 test ports. To complete the testing capabilities, the Line Parametric Testing option can be added to each EZ-TESTER DS version at a reasonable cost, resulting in a test set that can support a broad range of testing needs in a single hand-held package.

4-WIRE DDS LOCAL LOOP TESTING IS INCLUDED WITH EVERY EZ-TESTER DS

While the DS1 test capabilities of the EZ-TESTER DS are typical of our dual-port DS1 test sets, the 4-wire DDS local loop feature is unique. As a primary feature of the EZ-TESTER DS, the local loop testing function of the EZ-TESTER DS provides full out-of-service testing capabilities for DDS 4-wire local loops. The test set can terminate the local loop, autoconfigure to the loop rate, identify existing test patterns on the primary channel, and confirm the status of the secondary channel and identify the test pattern it may be carrying. The test set will identify alarm and error conditions, transmit typical DDS test patterns, inject errors and alarms; decode control bytes, perform local or remote loopback functions, and even enables frame relay testing from a DDS 4-wire test point. (This 4-wire DDS local loop test feature should not be confused with the DDS test option, Option 11, that enables DDS testing from a T1 access point only.)

LINE PARAMETRICS TESTING IS AVAILABLE AS AN ADD-ON OPTION

The Line Parametric Testing option (Option 40) is used to qualify copper lines used in voice frequency service or digital service applications by measuring the electrical and physical characteristics of the line. The option allows the technician to make line voltage measurements and to analyze the line by measuring electrical characteristics, determining length, and counting load coils. The option includes a time domain reflectometer (TDR) function to locate impedance changes in the line that may indicate physical damage, and a spectrum analyzer function to help detect and identify noise sources that may be causing interference at different point in the T1 bandwidth. Also included are tests to perform noise measurements and to measure the level and frequency of signals present on the line. Each test set weighs three pounds, is housed in a rugged metal case, contains rechargeable batteries, and can be operated in temperatures from below 0° F to 140°F.
