The Advantest U3641 is a 3-GHz synthesized spectrum analyzer ideal for field use. With a light weight, compact size and three-way power supply including battery operation, the U3641 has been designed specifically for field installation and maintenance applications. In addition, with the inclusion of a synthesized local oscillator, the U3641 allows high-precision and high stability measurements with a minimum resolution bandwidth of 100 Hz. A fast zero span sweep speed of 50 µs allows characterization of burst signal rising and falling edges and the measurement of power during on and off periods. The U3641 can be customized for a variety of applications by selecting from the wide range of available options. The U3641 is a portable spectrum analyzer which can be used for maintenance on various aspects of CATV and digital mobile communication systems.

Performance and Compactness for "Hand-Carried" Applications

As new digital communication services are introduced, operators not only need to verify the quality of their own transmission, but also identify possible sources of interference. These sources of interference may include, for example, candidates for microwave relocation. The U3641 is equal to the task, with the highest sensitivity of any instrument its size -- down to -135 dBm at 1 kHz resolution bandwidth (RBW). Similarly, its sweep time (as low as 50 microseconds) equips it well for monitoring TDMA burst signals in the PCS 1900 range. Lastly, the U3641's compactness and 20-lb. operational weight (including batteries) make it easy to transport and handle in every hand-carried situation. The U3641 packs more performance per pound than any other instrument of its type.
