Agilent 16750A 400 MHz 68 Channel Logic
Analyzer Module
For the 167xxx series logic analyzers
Rent me for $700 a month
Features
- 4M of acquisition memory is available to help link a
symptom of a problem with the cause
- Innovative hardware in the 16750A improves system
performance
- 400 MHz state speed
- 2 GHz Timing Zoom provides high-speed state and timing
analysis simultaneously through a single probe connection to the device
under test
- VisiTrigger? technology combines new trigger
functionality with a user interface that is easy to use and understand
- 68 to 340 channels of data capture on the same time base
and trigger
- Eye Finder? automatically adjusts setup and hold for
highest confidence in measurements on high-speed buses.
400 MHz State Speed
Fast state speed is critical as you debug the
latest microprocessors and high speed data buses because it allows youto capture
state data accurately while the device under test runs at full speed.
Usable Deep Memory
Memory depth is an invaluable resource when you
have a difficult to reproduce problem and want to insure that you capture all
the clues you need to quickly solve it. The key to deep memory analysis is
usable system performance. The Agilent 16750A includes innovative hardware
enhancements to improve system performance when you analyze these large data
sets.
2 GHz Timing Analysis
Timing Zoom in the 16750A provides simultaneous
acquisition of state and timing data through a single probe connection. Timing
Zoom is available across all channels, all the time.
Improved Triggering
VisiTrigger technology is a breakthrough in
usability. It combines powerful trigger functionality with a graphical user
interface that is easy to understand and use.
Reliable State Measurements on High speed Buses
To make reliable state measurements, a logic
analyzer needs to sample stable data. As bus speeds increase, the time when data
is stable decreases, so adjusting the setup and hold window of the logic
analyzer becomes more critical. Jitter, skew, and pattern-dependent intersymbol
interference also make the window smaller. Agilent?s eye finder technology
automatically adjusts the setup and hold on every channel with 100-ps
resolution, eliminating the necessity of manual adjustment and ensuring the
highest confidence in accurate state measurements on high-speed buses.
Up to 340 Channels
The new modules each support 68 channels. Five
modules can be combined for a total of 340 channels on a single time base and
trigger. All modules work with the Agilent 16700A/B and 16702A/B logic analysis
systems.

New Page 1
Agilent 54620A 16 Channel Logic Analyzer.
Rent me for $250 a month
This is a good basic logic analyzer. Simple and easy to use. Trouble free operation for 16 channels.
The Agilent 54620A logic analyzer looks, feels and runs like a scope because you told us to design it that way. You told us you liked the troubleshooting benefits of logic analysis but didn't have the time to learn a traditional logic analyzer (and relearn it every time you had to use it again). So we built the Agilent 54620A on a scope platform with a familiar front panel and a fast, responsive display. Now you can stop trying to troubleshoot complex digital circuits with your scope -- and you won't have to get a graduate degree in logic analysis.
Features
- 16 timing channels
- Maximum sample rate: 500 MSa/s
- 3.5 ns Glitch Capture
- Autoscale instantly shows you all active signals, scaled for easy viewing
- Triggering modes: edge, pattern and advanced (including duration times and sequences)
- Trigger on all input lines and external trigger
- Automated measurements of frequency, period, duty cycle, ± width, delay, and setup and hold time
Do you use your scope as your primary tool for
troubleshooting digital circuits because you feel that your problems are not
complex enough for a logic analyzer? Do you wish that your scope had the power
of a logic analyzer without the complexity and cost of one? If so, these are the
logic analyzers for you. With familiar scope-like operation and high speed
display, these are logic analyzers that you can simply set on your bench and use
like your scope. Because you are a scope user, these are the logic analyzers
that you already know how to operate. The Agilent Technologies 54620A is
designed to be used with your scope to quickly troubleshoot and debug your mixed
signal and digital circuits.
The 54620A is the choice for tight budget
situations. Its monochrome raster CRT display provides bright crisp displays of
our logic waveforms.
High speed display
An important consideration of a troubleshooting
tool is its ability to clearly display changes in the circuit under test. The
54620A employs an advanced four processor architecture, giving you a logic
analyzer that can display changing waveforms in your system that would be missed
by more traditional analyzers. Another benefit of the high speed display
system is that the 54620A will respond instantly to your front panel control
inputs. This eliminates a source of confusion in your troubleshooting process.

The P6434 Mass Termination Probe allows you to connect 34 logic analyzer
channels to a microprocessor probe adapter or directly to your target system in
one fourth the physical area needed to connect standard probes.
You can reduce the vertical clearance dimension to less than a half inch if you
use the low-profile extender. If you use a P6434 Reduced Bias Voltage adapter,
you can reduce the pull-up voltage that the P6434 probe delivers to the system
under test. The pull-up voltage reduces from 2.2 volts to 1.1 volts at the same
time the DC input resistance changes from 20 k§Ù to 10 k§Ù. If you are using
TLA6xx or TLA7Lx/Mx/Nx/Px/Qx logic analyzer modules you can take
advantage of the new compression footprint and eliminate the need for Mictor
connectors in your target system with a Compression-on-PCB to P6434 Mictor

For debugging the signal integrity glitches common on fast buses such as
RapidIO and SPI4.2, the P6900 Series work with the TLA7Axx module and its iLink?
Tool Set capability to provide iCapture? simultaneous digital-analog
acquisition. This allows you to clearly see the time-correlated digital and
analog behavior of your design, without the extra capacitance and setup time of
double-probing.
For differential signaling applications where signal integrity is critical,
the high-fidelity P6980 and P6982 are perfect for those applications where noise
performance is critical. In addition, the P6980 and P6982 can support the small
voltage swings that differential signaling often requires.
For board designs that do not include high-density probe footprints, the
P6960 with its companion flying leadset provides the flexibility required to
meet many different debug needs.

Tektronix TLA7L4 with software version V3.2.1 and options 136CH,2GHZ TIMING,100MHZ STATE,32K MEM.
Description
The TEK TLA7L4 Logic Analyzer is a 100MHz state, 2GHz timing, 32k depth, 136 channel acquisition card for the TLA7xx series logic analyzer mainframes. It is directly compatible with the TLA704 and TLA711 mainframes.
The TLA7L4 can also be used in the newer TLA714 and TLA720 mainframes as explained here by Tektronix:
Will my older TLA7Lx and TLA7Mx logic analyzer modules or TLA7Dx and TLA7Ex digitizing oscilloscope modules work in the newer TLA714 portable or TLA720 benchtop mainframes?
Yes, but you must reflash the firmware on your modules with the new Version 4.0-compatible firmware located on your TLA mainframe hard disk. If any module that is not running Version 4.0 compatible-firmware is installed in a TLA mainframe running Version 4.0, the TLA application software will not recognize the module nor will it show up in the System window.

Tektronix TLA7PG2
Pattern Generator Module
For the TLA Series
Mainframes
Characteristics
General
Data Width - 64 Channel full channel mode.
32 Channel half channel mode.
Module "Merging" - Five modules can be "merged" to make up
to a 320 channel module. Merged modules exhibit the same depth as
the lesser of the 5 individual modules.
Number of Mainframe Slots Required - 2.
Data Rate - Internal Clock:
0.5 Hz to 134 MHz full channel mode.
1.0 Hz to 268 MHz half channel mode.
External Clock:
DC to 134 MHz full channel mode.
DC to 268 MHz half channel mode.
External Clock Input - Polarity: positive or negative.
Threshold: -2.56 V to +2.54 V, nominal; programmable in
20 mV increments.
Sensitivity: <500 mVp-p.
Impedance: 1 kÙ terminated to ground.
Data Depth - 256 k full channel/512 k half
channel.
1 M full channel/2 M half channel (optional).
Pattern Sequencing Characteristics
Blocks - Separate sections of pattern program that are
output in a user definable order by the Sequencer. Block pattern depth
can be from 40 sequences (full channel mode) or 80 sequences (half
channel mode) up to the entire depth of the TLA7PG2. A maximum of 4,000
Blocks may be defined.
Sequencer - A 4,000 line memory that allows the user to pick
the output order of individual Blocks. Each line in the sequencer
allows the definition of a Block to be output, a Repeat Count for that
Block, A Wait For event condition for the Block, the Signal state for
that Block (asserted or unasserted), and a Jump If event Condition,
with a sequence line to jump to if the condition is satisfied.
Sub-sequences - Up to 50 contiguous lines of the Sequencer
memory may be defined as a Sub-sequence. A Sub-sequence can then be
treated like a block. (Example: 15 Sequences of Blocks are defined as
Sub-sequence A1. Now any line in the Sequencer can output A1. Five
calls to Sub-sequence A1 will be flattened out to 75 sequences at run
time.)
Jump If - Jumps to the specified sequence if a user defined
event is true. The user defined event is a boolean combination of the
eight external event input

the display. In addition to the LCD display, a composite video output supplies a
monochrome waveform, vector or audio display, either full-screen or cut into a
color picture.
As a waveform monitor, the WFM90D/WFM91D provides all the features expected
on a basic, single-channel monitor: external reference; 1H, 2H and 2F sweeps;
X1, X5 and variable vertical gain; flat and luminance filters. The external
reference input allows users to perform the system timing adjustments critical
to sophisticated field productions. In addition to these basic features, an
alarm mode, where the waveform's color changes above 100 IRE (WFM90D) or
700 mV (WFM91D), provides quick feedback when video levels exceed accepted
standards.
The WFM90D/91D also reports presence/absence of EDH packet, FF/AP CRC Errored
Seconds and Cable Length Margin Flag. All display controls are selected through
simple, on-screen menus.
Whether adjusting a camera's black/white balance or adjusting chroma levels
and hues on a time base corrector, the WFM90D/WFM91D Composite Vector Mode
provides the needed display controls. Variable, X1 and X5 gain settings and a
360 degree phase shifter are selectable via on-screen menus, as is 75% or
100% bars for the WFM90D.
