Agilent/HP 83650L 50 Ghz Generator
The Agilent 83650L synthesized swept CW generator is the
standard of excellence for applications requiring the high performance and
accuracy of a synthesized source and the speed and versatility of a sweep
oscillator.
Features
- +2.5 dBm calibrated output power
- -50 dBc harmonics <26.5 GHz typical
- SSB phase noise <-80 dBc at 10 GHz and 10 kHz offset
- Complete analog sweeper
- -110 dBm output power with step attenuator (Option 001)
Precision and versatility
The Agilent Technologies 8360 family consists of the
general purpose B-model series and the application-focused L-model series. They
combine the excellent frequency resolution, level control, signal purity, and
modulation capabilities you expect of a high-performance synthesized signal
generator with the speed and convenience of a sweep oscillator. They are ideal
for the demanding requirements of signal simulation, local oscillator, and
stimulus/response component or subsystem test applications. The 8360 family
offer a choice of models to meet a variety of application requirements.
Ultra-broadband frequency coverage from 10 MHz to 50 GHz is available in coax
using a 2.4 mm precision connector. High-power models with up to +20 dBm are
also available, and can be used to directly drive the 83550 series mm-wave
source modules for superior performance to 110 GHz in waveguide. The 8360 can
also be customized with 1 Hz frequency resolution, fast pulse, a synthesized
internal modulation generator, and a blank front panel for automated test
applications.
Flexible and upgradable for growth
The 8360 is designed to facilitate future growth. The
hardkey and softkey front-panel design offers easily accessible functions that
are simple to use. Softkey flexibility and modular architecture provide upgrade
capability, while retaining system compatibility. The family delivers the
cost-effective and state-of-the-art perform-ance you need today, while
protecting your investment in the future.
Serviceability
The 8360 models only need to be calibrated once every two
years. Should a problem arise, over 280 internal self-tests quickly isolate more
than 95% of instrument failures to the assembly level. Intermittent problems may
be efficiently located by continually monitor-ing the tests and logging the
results to the internal display or an external printer. To minimize the need for
external equipment, adjustments have been automated with DACs and calibration
constants where possible. Internal service power meter and voltmeter functions
are available for performing most of the few remaining manual adjustments, as
well as enabling more specific and thorough troubleshooting. The RF deck can
also be raised as a whole unit for service, or reversed for rear RF output
without output power degradation.

phase noise performance. While maintaining affordability, the Agilent 8648A is
built to stringent quality standards, and offers an all-electronic attenuator to
promote measurement consistency and repeatability. In addition, the simplistic
design of the front panel shortens the operator's learning curve and increases
productivity. With 300 storage registers and ten user-definable sequences
(accessible from a remote keypad), the Agilent 8648A easily adapts to any test
procedure.
Features
- Economical synthesized signal generator
- Electronic attenuator
- Superior level accuracy
- Wide frequency and power coverage
- Remote and memory interfaces for semi-automated testing
- Simple, dependable operation
Easy to use
Designed to simplify operator use and training,
the front panel is organized in easy-to-identify functional blocks, and offers
independent frequency and amplitude control knobs. The 300 internal storage
registers and ten user- definable sequences easily adapt to any test
procedure. Once test setups are saved in storage registers, operators can

Agilent/HP 8340A Option H02 20 GHz Synthesized Sweeper

Sweeper
Rent me for $600 a month
The 8340A Opt H02 is comparable to the HP 8341B. The 8340A
Synthesized Sweeper delivers the combined high-performance of a synthesizer and
a broadband sweep oscillator in one instrument that is complete controllable via
the HP Interface Bus (HP-IB). This efficient combination of performance and
versatility is ideal for manual or automatic test systems and in many cases
enables the unit to replace a sweep oscillator, a frequency counter, an RF
synthesizer, and a microwave synthesizer. The 8340A synthesized sweep generator
offers superior resolution of 1 to 4 Hz over the frequency range of 10 MHz to
26.5 GHz. Output is generated by an indirect synthesis technique that yields low
single-sideband phase noise. This makes the 8340A an excellent source for use in
conjunction with microwave network analyzers like the HP 8510B. The indirect
synthesis technique also gives the 8340A a very fast CW switching time of
typically better than 35 ms. A fast phase-lock feature can also be enabled to
give switch times between 11 and 22 ms depending on absolute frequency and step
size. Long term stability is excellent at 1x10-9/day. Calibrated output range
+10 dBm to -110 dBm. Pulse, AM, FM modulation and a complete analog sweeping
with widths as narrow as 100Hz. HP-IB.

The 8620C Sweep Oscillator Mainframe, with more than 15
solid-state plug-ins available (sold separately), can provide >10 mW of leveled
output power from 3 to 18.6 GHz. Plug-In sweep bandwidths range from 3 to 350MHz
to the wide band 2 to 18.6 GHz module. With appropriate plug-ins, four separate

voltage values directly in Vp-p, Vrms or dBm. Internal AM, FM, FSK and
burst modulation make it easy to modulate waveforms without the need
for a separate modulation source. Linear and log sweeps are also built
in, with sweep rates selectable from 1 ms to 500 s. GPIB and RS-232
interfaces are both standard, plus you get full programmability using
SCPI commands. The 33120A can also be used in conjunction with the
34811A BenchLink Arb software. This Windows®-based program lets you
create and edit waveforms on your PC and download them to the 33120A.

Agilent 8904A DC-600 KHz Multifunction
Synthesizer
The Agilent 8904A multifunction synthesizer generates accurate
sinewaves from 0 Hz to 600 kHz with 0.1 Hz resolution. The 8904A also has five
other standard functions: square, triangle, ramp, from 0 Hz to 50 kHz plus dc,
and Gaussian white noise. All waveform values in the 8904A are digitally
calculated in real time by Agilent Technologies' Digital Waveform Synthesis IC
yielding 12-bit digital accuracy. Full GPIB programmability is also included
standard on the 8904A.
Features
- Sine to 600 kHz, square, ramp, triangle to 50 kHz
- 12 bit direct digital synthesis
- Tone, DTMF, digital, Hop Ram sequence modes
- One or two outputs
- One to four internal channels
- AM, FM, Phi-M, DSBSC, and pulse modulation
- Unit to unit phase synchronization
The Agilent Technologies 8904A Multifunction Synthesizer
uses VLSIC technology to create complex signals from six fundamental waveforms.
The standard 8904A digitally synthesizes precise sine, square, triangle, ramp,
white noise, and dc waveforms and routes these signals to a single output.
Option 001 adds three more identical internal synthesizers (channels) which can
either modulate the first synthesizer or be summed to the output. Frequency,
amplitude, waveform, phase, and destination can be independently set for each
synthesizer. Available modulation types for channel A include AM, FM, FM, DSBSC,
and pulse modulation. Option 002 adds a second 50 ohm output, providing a second
separate signal for two channel applications. Option 003 adds fast hop and
digital modulation capability to the 8904A. Option 005 allows multiple 8904As to
be phase synchronized for applications which require the use of more than one
8904A. Option 006 changes output one of the 8904A from a 50 floating
output to a 600 ohm, high-power balanced output. With this option, the 8904A can
deliver 10 volts rms into a 600 ohm load from 30 Hz to over 100 kHz. All this
unique capability makes the Agilent 8904A a powerful new tool for demanding
applications like VOR, ILS, FM stereo, and communications signaling.
