Warranty Information

NEW Test Equipment

When you buy NEW test equipment from US INSTRUMENT SERVICES, you are supported by the manufacturer warranty. If your test equipment needs to be repaired, please send it back to the manufacturer and they will return it to you after performing the necessary maintenance or repairs. The length of warranty varies depending upon the applicable manufacturer. Should you have any questions please contact your US INSTRUMENT SERVICES sales representative for details. New equipment is subject to a 25% re-stocking fee.

REFURBISHED Test Equipment

If your REFURBISHED test equipment malfunctions during its warranty period, US INSTRUMENT SERVICES will perform the necessary maintenance or repairs. The customer is responsible for shipping the unit back to US INSTRUMENT SERVICES. The length of each warranty varies depending on the type of product you purchase; however, the typical warranty period is 30 days. Extended warranties are available for up to 12 months. Contact your sales representative for details. Refurbished equipment comes with a 5-day right of return. After 5 days, refurbished equipment is subject to a 25% re-stocking fee.

Warranty Information

On occasion test equipment may be damaged in transit. If you notice any problems incurred in shipping, please take pictures of the box and notify your freight forwarder. If you encounter a problem with test equipment that is clearly not the result of freight damage please notify your salesperson . Be sure to provide a complete technical description of the problem. You may be asked to take some time on the phone with our technical support staff. In many cases a problem may be caused by operator error and the problem can be addressed over the phone. If not, US INSTRUMENT SERVICES will provide you with an RMA number authorizing you to return the equipment to us. Once you have received an RMA the customer is responsible for shipping the unit to US INSTRUMENT SERVICES. You should insure the unit for its full value. After repairing the unit, US INSTRUMENT SERVICES will pay freight charges on returning the product. In the rare instance when we are neither able repair or replace it, US INSTRUMENT SERVICES will issue a refund .

Warranty Policy -Limited Warranty and Disclaimers

US INSTRUMENT SERVICES warrants that the equipment which it supplies is free from significant defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the time periods ("Warranty Periods") described as evidenced by a copy of the equipment's shipping invoice from US INSTRUMENT SERVICES or an authorized US INSTRUMENT SERVICES partner. In the event that you believe that you have discovered any such defect during the applicable Warranty Period, you may return the equipment believed to be defective, freight prepaid, to US INSTRUMENT SERVICES during the Warranty Period, and if US INSTRUMENT SERVICES determines that the returned equipment contains a significant defect in materials or workmanship, US INSTRUMENT SERVICES shall, at its option, repair or replace the defective equipment and return it to you, freight prepaid or refund the purchase price of the equipment. Call US INSTRUMENT SERVICES at (800) 870-0787 or (817) 481-1666 for a return authorization number (RMA) before returning any equipment. If US INSTRUMENT SERVICES elects to replace the equipment it may replace it with functionally equivalent equipment. IF US INSTRUMENT SERVICES determines that the hardware is not defective or was not under warranty, it will be returned to customer, freight collect. US INSTRUMENT SERVICES shall have no responsibility or obligation with respect to any deficiency resulting from accidents, misuse or modifications. US INSTRUMENT SERVICES LIMITED WARRANTY ON EQUIPMENT IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, AND US INSTRUMENT SERVICES MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND US INSTRUMENT SERVICES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

ALL ITEMS DESCRIBED IN THIS PARAGRAPH ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, AND US INSTRUMENT SERVICES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. US INSTRUMENT SERVICES DOES NOT WARRANT, GUARANTEE, OR MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING THE USE OR THE RESULTS OF THESE ITEMS OR ANY ACCOMPANYING WRITTEN MATERIALS IN TERMS OF THEIR CORRECTNESS, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, SOFTWARE REVISIONS OR OTHERWISE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE RESULTS AND PERFORMANCE OR THE SOFTWARE AND WRITTEN MATERIAL IS ASSUMED BY YOU. The items provided "AS IS" are: storage CRT's klystrons; backward wave oscillators; 50 to 1000 ohm resistive input/output circuitry of any equipment; software and software media; traveling wave tubes; magnetic tape heads; internal batteries; and cesium/rubidium beam tubes. Complete Statement of Warranty

The limited warranty provided in the first paragraph is the only warranty of any kind that is made by US INSTRUMENT SERVICES, its representatives, agents or employees shall create a warranty or in any way increase the scope of this warranty and you may not rely on any such information or advice. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other rights, which vary from state to state. Limitations on Liability: No Consequential Damages

In no event will US INSTRUMENT SERVICES be liable for costs of procurement of substitute products or services or lost profits, or any special, indirect, consequential or incidental damages, however caused and on any theory of liability, arising in any way out of the sale and/or license of products from US INSTRUMENT SERVICES to you. This limitation shall apply even if US INSTRUMENT SERVICES has been advised of the possibility of such damages and notwithstanding any failure of essential purpose of any limited remedy. In no event will US INSTRUMENT SERVICES liability relating to the sale or license of products or services to you, regardless of the form of the action, exceed the amount paid by you for such products or services.
